Ten Day You Challenge #9

Hey Guys,

Finally the last day of the ten day you challenge is here. I only wish that I could have done this properly and actually stuck to doing it every day rather than once in a blue moon, but never mind. Day ten is one picture of myself.  (Cue the cheesy Iphone picture)

So there you have it. I have to say that I am pleased that this tag is finally finished although I did enjoy sharing with you some of my favourite things.
Let me know if you took part in this tag.

Product review: Lee Stafford Hair Growth Products

Hey Guys,

Okay so a bit of history on my hair before I begin. I have really flat dull hair that isn't to thick or to thin it's somewhere in the middle. It's been every colour from a dull boring brown to bright red and everything In-between. The annoying thing about my hair is the fact that my parting is so strong that I don't think I could ever change it so there is no chance that I could ever have a side parting. The other really annoying thing is that I have a really strong cowlick and the front of my head. Unfortunately it runs in my family so my poor brothers have got it to. However this also means that there is no chance that I could ever have a fringe. My hair grows really slowly, like really slow, I’ve been growing a bob cut out now for about two years.
I have always secretly wanted long hair so recently I have been willing to give anything a try in order to help it grow. I considered taking seaweed tablets but they make ALL your hair grow, ew! So when I was in my local boots last month and saw that the lee Stafford range was on offer on 3 for 2 I thought I might as well give it a go.

So after about three weeks of actually using these products two or three times a week I have to say I'm pretty impressed.
I have noticed that my hair seems to be getting longer, but the pessimistic part of me thinks that it’s because I am watching it like a hawk to see if it’s growing. My favourite product of the three is the tub of treatment that you use in-between the shampoo and conditioner. It leaves my hair feeling really soft and luxurious. I’m not a massive fan of the shampoo because I feel like it doesn’t give my hair a very deep clean, even when I wash it twice and the conditioner doesn’t really leave my hair feeling very soft. However that might be the point of them that they are only supposed to make your hair grow rather than act like a normal shampoo and conditioner.

I’ve been using these products for about a month and a half and, although I’m not Repunzel yet, other people have been commenting on my hair saying it looks longer. So I would say that if you’re in the market for a new shampoo and conditioner these are definitely worth giving them a go because in my opinion they have worked. But I would still say every other wash to use a different shampoo just to give your hair a deep cleanse.

So there you have it. Have you ever tried these products?

Ten Day You Challenge #6

Hey Guys,

I promise that I will eventually get this tag finished. I think it’s taken me ten years rather than ten days but never mind.

Today I’m going to be sharing with you four books. Anybody who doesn’t know I am a complete book worm. I love nothing more than wasting a whole day sat reading a book. I have been known to start and finish a book in one day. I thought I would share with you my four favourite books.

1.       Sophie Kinsella books: Okay so I know this is cheating by talking about an author rather than one book bur I literally love every one of her books. I’ve even read most of the books she has written under the name Madeline Whickham and I love them all. I think they are a really fun easy read that you can easily get lost in.

2.       Cecilia Ahern, P.S I Love You: I read this book in about 3 days one year on holiday. It was the first book that I actually cried when I was reading it. It’s a beautifully heart breaking and uplifting story. I then made the mistake of watching the film that went alongside this book. The film is pants so if you liked the film I can guarantee that you will love the book.

3.       Audrey Niffenegger, The Time Travellers Wife: This was another book that I actually found myself crying to when I was reading it. I enjoyed it that much that I ended up re-reading it because I was frightened that I’d missed something.

4.       Stephen King, The Dead Zone: This was a strange choice for me because, as you can see from the rest of this list I like romantic books that mostly have a happy ending. However I loved this book. I became really engrossed in this book and it was all I could think about for days after I had finished reading. A definite recommendation.

So there you go my four ultimate favourite books. And I promise I will have this tag finished sooner or later.

Products I Regret Buying

Hey guys,

So finally I have some good news my internet is now fully restored and in good working order, about time to. Hopefully now I can get back to blogging regularly.
So this is a bit of a different post for you today. Normally you read blogs and they all rave about the products they are currently loving and you never get to see any of the products that they didn’t like. So I thought I would share with you products that I was less than impressed with.

No7 primers: I’ve tried two of no7 primers; the colour calming one and the shine free one. I have to say that I gave these a really fair trial and have used most of both products. I bought the colour calming primer first as I was trying to find a solution to the yellow pigmentation on my face, especially under my eyes. Now I can’t remember exactly how much I paid for the primer but I’m pretty sure that I will have used a five pound of No7 voucher. However I was still really disappointed when this didn’t actually work. Not only did it not ‘calm the colour’ but it made no difference to how long my make-up stayed on either. Saying this I don’t know what possessed me to then go out and by another primer. And again, pretty much straight away, I knew I’d wasted my money. They just don’t work for me, so I will definitely not be conned into buying anymore.

No7 Exquisite Curl Mascara : Okay so in not completely hating on No7 because I do actually really like some of their products, the nail varnishes in particular. The funny thing is I would actually recommend people try because it actually worked, it left my eyelashes really long and curled. The only thing is I think I must be allergic to it! It made my eyes really itchy and they watered like mad. So I must have only used it two or three times but I just can't bring myself to throw it away!

Garnier Summer Body Gradual Tan: This was another product where there wasn't actually anything majorly wrong with it, it was just a bit pants. It didn't really give me any sort of tan but it was really moisturising. Maybe I didn’t give it enough of a fair trial I only used it for a week or so and then I gave it to my mam and she really likes it. The only thing I would say about this product is that, although it doesn’t give you the look of fake tan, it certainly gives you the smell.
Backcomb in a bottle: Now I’m going to be slightly harsh here but I really have nothing nice to say about this. All it did was make my hair sticky and hard! It was basically just hairspray in a prettier bottle. It was quite expensive as well and I've only used it once so it was a total waste of money.

17 Nail Polishes: Now to be fair to this brand their nail polishes are only a couple of pound so you can’t really complain. Now I’m about to complain, you need about 17thousand coats to get any sort of opacity to the colour and when you’ve wasted all your time doing that it then chips straight away.
I don't normally have a lot of products that I don't like as I tend to a lot of research and read lots of blog posts before I fork out my hard earned cash. I do impulse buy certain products but often I end up really liking them.

Have you ever regretted buying anything?

Ten Day You Challenge #7

Hey Guys,

Finally this tag is drawing to the end. Hasn’t it taken sucha long time? Never mind though.

Today I’m sharing my three favourite films that I can sitand watch over and over again.

1.      The Back to the future trilogy. These films areon the tele quite often and even though I have them on DVD I will sit and watchthem on the tele. I just think that they are all really good but I think numberthree is my favourite.

2.      Kindergarten Cop. This is a classic 90’s stylefilm but I just love it. It always makes me laugh and I normally shed a littletear at the end as well.

3.      Avengers Assemble. This is a fairly recentaddition to my favourites list but it’s amazing. I saw it at the pictures and Iimmediately wanted to go and see it again.

This was probably one of the hardest days of this tagbecause I literally love thousands of films. Particularly cheesy 80’s and 90’sfilms and, of course, all Disney films.

What are yourfavourite films?

Ten Day You Challenge #5

Hey guys,
I know I’ve already posted one of these posts today but I thought while I had internet access I might as well do a couple of posts. I promise things will be sorted soon. Day five is all about food, possibly one of my favourite subjects.  I’m sharing with you today my five ultimate favourite foods.

1.       My ultimate favourite food that I never tire of eating is Pasta. All pasta, all sauces and all meats. So as you can see I’m not fussy as long as there is some sort of pasta in there somewhere I’d happily eat it.

2.       Crisps. Crisps are definitely my weakness; I will never lose any weight whilst my addiction to crisps continues. But in all fairness I am totally not willing to give them up, especially flaming hot monster munch, yummm.

3.       Chinese food. This is the very reason that I am not a size 6. I could eat Chinese food for tea every night, just for the record black bean sauce is my ultimate favourite.

4.       Winter food. I know this is a bit vague, but I mean things like casseroles, pies, meat and two veg. Picture this; it’s freezing cold and raining outside your all cosy in your favourite jumper with a hot cup of tea just about to tuck into a sausage casserole with mash potato. See now isn’t that a lovely image, now you understand why winter foods are my favourite.

5.       Hot chocolate fudge cake with custard. I don’t really have a particularly sweet tooth but I love going out for a meal and finishing it off with a really naughty piece of cake. I mean let’s face it who doesn’t?

So there you have it guys. What are your favourite foods? Do you over indulge with a naughty piece of cake?

Ten Day You Challenge #4

Hey guys,

So I know that these posts were supposed to be posted daily but I have had major problems with my Internet connection. I tried to do scheduled posts but they just wouldn't work for some strange reason, who knows maybe I did it wrong? Then I tied to post from my iPad but it kept jointing certain words together, weird!  So anyway I'm going to try and post these and other posts as regularly as I can until I can get this silly internet working!

So here goes with my seven places!

Now I didn't know whether this referred to places I'd like to go or placesI'd been, so I thought id to a mixture of the two.

1.     New York: it's my absolute dream to go to New York. I fell in love with the city after endless hours of watching sex in the city and dreaming of a life like Carrie Bradshaw, ah the shoes! It's my dream to spend Christmas there, with the snow and the big trees and just everything.

2.     Corfu: Slightly soppy one here. This was the first place that me and Stuart went on holiday together on our own so it holds a lot of special memories for me.

3.     Kenya: I went to Kenya in 2005 to be a bridesmaid at my cousins wedding. All I can say is that it was just as amazing as you think. We went on a three day safari where we saw all the big hitters; elephants, lions, cheetahs, zebra and loads more. It is honestly something that I recommend people do at least once in their life time.

4.     The Caribbean: Again this is another dream holiday locationor even honeymoon idea. I’m not really fussy about where is the Caribbean I go to just as long as it has a white sandy beach. So I’m not asking much really then,(cough).

5.    Kos: Again this is another place that me and Stuartwent on holiday together. Just to shorten this post I actually like all the Greek islands.

6. London: Okay so I know that some people don’t class weekend breaks as holidays but definitely do. I am totally convinced that I am destined to live in London. I love every single thing about the city.

So there you go, where are your dream holiday destinations? Join me soon (hopefully) for my five foods.

3.      This one’s a bit soppy but it’s my boyfriend. Hehas been a huge part of my life now for almost seven years and I don’t knowwhere I would be without him.

Ten Secrets

1.      I am rubbish with money. Really rubbish, I get tooexcited about buying things and often forget that I actually have bills to pay!Oops.

2.      I find myself hilarious! Most of the time I’mthe only one laughing at my jokes because everyone else thinks they’re pants.

3.      I am definitely an early bird; late nights arenot for me! I’m pretty much always fast asleep before 11pm (what a party animalI am) and always up at about 8am.

4.      I am slightly OCD. I like things in a straightline and size order and if they get moved it really bugs me.

5.      I can’t stand watching anything that involvesviolence or blood or gory things. It really creeps me out and I have to hide myface.

6.      I treat my dog as if he’s an actual human baby. Reallyit’s quite sad, he gets lots of cuddles and kisses and sleeps on the bed withme.

7.      I’m a total bookworm. I love nothing more thanspending a full day just sat reading. I’ve just finished reading the Hunger Gamestrilogy (which was amazing by the way) and I’m now reading Cecelia Ahern’s Thanksfor the memories.

9.      My biggest weakness in life is crisps, allcrisps any flavour I love them all!

August Favourites

Hey guys,

So I'm back with another monthly favourites post. I know I've said it before but these really are some of my favourite posts to see and do. I was on holiday for two weeks of July so my makeup tended to be the same, which is why I didn't do a monthly favourites for July. So I'm back with one for August.

Body shop strawberry shower gel: I LOVE this product. The smells to die for, it's so delicious. It leaves my skin soft and nourished and its a joy to use. I had a small travl size of this that I did take on holiday so literally most of July as well as August, I used this product every day.

Soap and glory cleansing wipes: so this month I've been feeling really lazy when it comes to taking my make up off. Yes, I understand all the benefits of making sure you take it off properly but really who can be bothered with that EVERY night, not me that's for sure. I have tried loads of wipes ranging in price but these have to be my favourite. Some other wipes might take my make up off but they don't really make me feel like my skin is clean. where as these wipes really do. They feel like they slightly exfoliate my skin as well which I really enjoy.

MAC Impassioned: I really love this colour! This was the second ever MAC lipstick I'd ever bought and I do go through fazes with it where I don't wear  it for weeks and then wear it every day. I am aware that it is quite a bright colour but I still find it very wearable.

Natural Collection Blush:These blushers are really nice. I will admit that the staying power isn’t great but it’s small enough to carry around with you for touch ups. The best thing about these blushers though, is definitely, the price. They are only £1.99! Another thing is that Natural Collection have a really nice range of colours to choose from, so everyone can find something to suit their skin tone.

Soap And Glory Righteous Butter : I know that Soap and Glory products are featuring quite a bit on this blog, but the reason for this is because I am obsessed. Literally there is not a Soap and glory product that I’ve tried that I haven’t loved. The Righteous Butter is a classic product that most people have heard of. The reason for this is because it is amazing!  I love having a nice relaxing bath and then smothering myself in this (nice image for you there). It leaves my skin completely moisturised and so soft. The only thing I would say about this product is it is quite heavy, so I would recommend putting it on for bed rather than first thing on a morning.
Beauty Blender: Okay so this isn’t actually the infamous Beauty Blender, it’s actually an eBay dupe. However it’s almost the exact same thing, one edge is round and one is pointed and I’m pretty sure they do the same job.  This has made me monthly favourites because I honestly don’t know how I ever did my makeup before I had this. Everyone needs one of these in their life! It makes my foundation apply so flawlessly and makes it look really natural. I literally cant rave about this product enough.

So there you go, another monthly favourite although I am still in denial that it is actually September. What do you think? What are your favourite products this month?

Seven Deadly Sins Tag

Hey guys,
So today I’m going to do one of the most popular tags in the beauty world and that is the seven deadly sins. This tag has been floating around for a while so I thought it was about time I had a crack at it.

GREED: What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?
The most expensive beauty item that I own would be my Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette although I received this as a gift for my 21st Birthday. So the most expensive item that I bought was my Chanel Vita Lumiere Aqua foundation. The most inexpensive would have to be my Collection 2000 blushers, they do a great range of colours for only £1.99, bargain.

WRATH: What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with? What product has been the hardest to get?
The product that I have a love hate relationship with is No7 Exquisite Curl Mascara. I love this mascara because it really curls and lifts my eyelashes. I hate this mascara because I think I am allergic to it, after about an hour of wearing it my eyes get really sore and itchy and water like mad, bad times.  The only product that I used to have a problem getting were Essie Nail polishes, I had always wanted to try them but I was so dubious about buying them online because you can never be completely sure that the colour you can see is the colour you will get. However this problem has been solved, thank you boots!

GLUTTONY: What is your most delicious beauty product?
This is a really strange question because who eats beauty products? In terms of smell I love anything from Soap and glory especially their shower crèmes and body butters.

SLOTH: What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness?
I would definitely have to say primer. In all honesty, most mornings, I just can’t be bothered with primer. Unless I’m planning to do a full day without being able to touch up my makeup I don’t really see the point in primer, because I don’t have particularly oily skin so my makeup doesn’t really disappear.

PRIDE: What beauty product gives you the most self-confidence?
This is a pretty obvious answer but I would have to say foundation. When I’m having a particularly bad skin day as soon as I’ve put on my foundation I feel tons better.

Lust: What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?
Again this has nothing to do with beauty but I’ll answer it anyway. I like a man who is tall, kind and funny.

Envy: What items would you most like to receive as a gift?
I don’t really like to receive beauty products as gifts because I like to be able to test products first and make sure that I get the right shades to suit my skin tone. However at Christmas and on my birthday I tend to ask for perfumes. Again I normally say which perfumes I like because I’m really picky when it comes to my scents.

So there you go guys, the infamous seven deadly sins tag. I really enjoyed taking part in this tag and I think I would like to do more tags.

N.O.T.D

Hey guys,

Just a quick post today. I love this colour nail varnish, it's perfect for summer. Ok, I am aware that summer is technically almost over but I am in denial and will not giving up wearing my summer things, so there take that autumn!

Sorry about the visable bits of blue. Blue nail varnish is a nightmare to get off isnt it?

I actually got this nail varnish free with a magazine last month or the month before I think I can't really remember. I love the freebies that you get with the magazines because even if your only buying the magazine to get the product it still works out at a fraction of the cost.

What do you think? What's the best freebie you've ever gotten?
