Review: Botanics Microdermabrasion Polish

Hi Guys,
I’m back today with a review of the botanics microdermabrasion polish.
Botanics say: ' this intensive micro-polishing treatment encourages cell renewal for a younger looking, more radiant complexion. Dullness banishing microparticles help to refine pores and improve skin texture, for a salon experience at home'
I have been using this for a couple of months now in order to get a good feel for it. I have to say that i have really enjoyed using this. It has become a firm staple in my weekly pamper night!
It is quite harsh on your skin, but I like that. I like to know that a product is really working. However if you do have really sensitive skin I would maybe say stay away from this.
Because it is quite harsh you skin does benefit from a really hydrating mosturiser afterwards. At the moment I have been using the night cream from the same range which I really like as well.
I do notice a difference once I have used this polish but more in the feel of my skin rather than the look of, maybe thats just me.
Let me know if you have tried this, or what other polishes you reccomend as I am currently on the hunt for my holy grail skin products.

Longleat Safari Park

Hey Guys,

Recently me and Stuart travelled all the way down the country for a road trip. On one of the days we went to Longleat Safari Park so I though I would share my pictures with you.
(Be aware this will be a very picture heavy post)

These are just a few of the many photos I took.
Some of them are a bit blury but we obviously weren't allowed the car windows down.

If you live near Longleat or are thinking of going I would definitely recommend it. There was loads to do and wasn't all that expensive.

Have you ever been? Let me know what you thought of it.

My Nail Polish Storage

Hey guys,

So I'm back with you to share my new way I store my nail polish!!

Believe it or not this was a handbag from Primark, like three summers ago! I can across it the other day and I thought it would be such a shame to throw it away!

Then the idea struck! Now I am aware that not all my nail varnishes fit and I have still got some stored in my wardrobe but I just love this way to store my favourite and most worn!

When I eventually get a dressing table I think this will look so nice sitting on top!

Let me know what you think? How do you store your nail polish and make up?

Most Worn : Autumn Nail Colours

Hi Guys,

Today I’m back with my most worn nail colours during the autumn. I generally tend to tone down the colours I wear to go with my wardrobe. I like to wear a lot of nudes with the occasional red or plum thrown in to the mix.

Buck Naked, Crush, Mocha, FoxGlove, Every Month is Oktoberfest

The No7 polish is a lot darker in real life more like a plum, I had to use the flash in order to see the OPI polish a bit better. As you can see I tend to stick to nudes, browns, reds and purples.

My favourite of these is Topshop Buck Naked and Barry M Crush. My most favourite shade would probably cranberry on my nails in the Autumn. I do sometimes like to mix it up and throw a bright pink on there but that's rare.

I personally think Matte polishes are going to be a big thing this autumn/winter. They are cropping up everywhere.

Let me know what your favourite autumn shades are!

Review: Enrapture Extremely heated rollers

Hey guys,

Today I’m back with a review of the Enrapture Heated rollers.
You'll have to excuse the paint on the front. Decorating woes!
I absolutely love these rollers. I will hold my hands up, I am rubbish with my hair. I can’t curl it with the straightener's, I can’t use curling wands, I am rubbish.
That was until these bad boys came into my life. These have been the only thing that has worked for me. They give me the volume I want as well as big bouncy curls.

Pesky Paint

You turn the base on and it takes literally about five minutes to heat the rollers up. The other really good thing about these is the fact that the clips are also heated which means your hair is being heated from all angles.
Because they get so hot you only need to leave the rollers in about 15 minutes, which makes them great for a quick fix before a night out. When I say they get hot I mean it, I've got asbestos fingers so I don't have much trouble but one of my friends burnt her finger on the rollers. I like to put these in before my makeup and leave them in for about an hour to give me the look I like. With the right hairspray the curls will last all night, even with lots of dancing.

I would definitely recommend these to anyone who is like me and can’t do anything else with their hair, if a novice like me can do them then anyone can!

Let me know if you have these and what you think? Also if you have any tips for curling hair please let me know?

Review: Maybelline Instant Anti-Age Eraser Eye Concealer

Hey Guys,
Today I’m back sharing my opinions on the Maybelline Instant Anti-Age Eraser Eye Concealer (wow that’s a mouthful)

I picked this up on a whim in boots when they were having their 3 for 2 promotions. I’ve been using this on and off for a couple of months to try and get a good feel for it.
I must admit I’m still not sure how I feel. When I’m having a good skin day I really like this. It’s brightening and gives a really good coverage.
But when I’m having a bad skin day it can look a little heavy and cakey around the eyes.
Another thing to note with this product is that you always end up with loads coming out. You have to twist the top to make the product come out of the little sponge but it just seems like you end up wasting a lot. I’ve been using this not every day for the last two months and mine has almost ran out.
All in all, I think I will continue to use this until its finished but I don’t think I would re purchase it.
Have you tried this concealer? How did you get on?

Review: Nars Blush in Amour

Hey guys,
Today I am officially popping my Nars cherry and going to review the blush in Amour.

I purchased this from a blog sale. a little while ago. I thought that it would be a good way to try it without paying full price in case I wasn’t keen because, boy are these bad boys pricey.
I really wanted to hate this, I really did! I didn't want to be sucked in to the whole Nars "thing". No such luck! I love it!!
The colour is a beautiful deep pink, which really suits my skin tone. Its very wearable, I can wear it during the day or the night. However if your paler than me though it might be too dark for you.
The pigmentation is amazing, you only need a teeny tiny bit on your brush to give you a really good colour pay off.
The staying power is also really good. I apply my make-up on the morning and my blush is normally still on by the time I get back home on the evening, a good 7.5 hours later!
All in all, I would highly recommend the Nars blushes.  They do come with a hefty price tag but I can imagine them lasting years before you need to re-purchase these so they are probably good value for money.

Let me know what you think? Do you own any Nars products? What are your favourite products?

Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Polish

Hey Guys,
Welcome back to my poor neglected blog.
Today I'm going to share with you my thoughts on the Barry M Gelly Hi shine polishes.

I have three of these, lychee, prickly pear and green berry. I couldn't find lychee when I took these photos.
I do realise I am a bit late to the party with these, everyone and their grandma has reviewed these.

However I have to say they haven't bowled me over. Don't get me wrong there are some beautiful colours but I just don't see what is so special about them.

I personally do not love the thicker consistency, I just find it takes to long to dry. I do love the finish however, but I think that it is something you could achieve with a good top coat on a normal polish.

Saying all that I can see why everyone raves about these, the colours are lovely and if you have got the time to sit and let them dry they would be lovely.

In terms of staying power I would say they are pretty average. I work in an office so nail polish normally only lasts a couple of days anyway.

So, I would definitely purchase more of these and recommend them to people.
Actually there are a couple of colours I have got my eye on.

What do you think of these polishes? Do you like the formula?

Review: Lush Dirty Springwash Shower Gel

Hey guys,

I’m back with another lush review today. Today I am going to be talking about the Dirty Springwash shower gel.

As I have previously mentioned I do not like products that have two jobs. I like a shower gel and a shampoo separately so I’m not going to talk about as a shampoo.
As a shower gel it’s lovely, pretty standard lush shower gel, gets the job done.
However I’m not too keen on the smell of this. It’s supposed to smell minty and fresh but to me it smells like Aquafresh toothpaste, not my favourite smell in the whole world.  But if you like that smell then this is the product for you, as well as other products in the same line that have the same smell.
So I will continue to use this shower gel until it’s all out but I doubt very much if I will re-purchase.
Let me know if you like this product, and if you managed to make it work as a shampoo?

Review: Soap and Glory Smoothie Star Body Milk

Hey guys,

Today I am going to review the Soap and Glory Smoothie Star Body Milk.

Sorry about the grainy Iphone photo, my camera decided to have a fit and not work :(

This was actually in one of the sets that I received for Christmas, and I’ve only just got round to trying it last month.
The first thing is that the name is quite deceiving. Because it is called a body milk I was expecting a runny consistency, more like milk actually. However it is quite thick. I admit I do prefer the thicker consistency but I was just letting you guys know.
The next thing is the smell. It doesn’t have the normal Soap and Glory fragrance which I’ve come to love over the years. It smells like nutty yogurt. Don’t get me wrong it’s not a bad smell it’s just not my personal favourite.
However even though I’m not keen on the smell I can’t deny what a good moisturiser it is. I have been putting it on, before bed every night. I must admit I have noticed an improvement. Especially around my dry elbows.
All in all I probably would re-purchase this because it works so well. However I think I would try and find another moisturiser that worked just as well with a scent I preferred more.
Let me know if you have tried this? Did it work for you? Do you like the smell?

Lush Happy Hippy Shower Gel

Hey guys,

Today I thought I would share my thoughts on the Happy hippy shower gel from Lush.

First things first I am always slightly dubious about multi use products, because I think surely it must do one thing better than the other? I must admit i was right in this case. Happy Hippy can be used as both a shower gel and a shampoo.
Now don’t get me wrong I love it as a shower gel. It foams really well and smells delicious. It smells citrusy but sweet at the same time. Kind of like lemon meringue pie!!
But I do not like to use it on my hair. Personally I felt like it didn’t really clean my hair, it just made it smell nice. I mean that could just be me, I like to give my hair a good scrub rather than a just a quick wash so maybe I am slightly biased I don’t know.
Anyway I would re-purchase this because I love the smell but I would definitely only use it as a shower gel.
Let me know if you have tried this, and what you thought?

June Favourites

Hey guys

Sorry about my complete lack of posts recently. I must admit I’m struggling find a balance between working full time, having a life and writing my blog.

I  really really enjoy writing this blog so I am determined to make this work. Anyway enough rambling let’s get on to the post.

I went to Corfu in June for a week so my favourites are all things that I used whilst on holiday as well as the rest of the month.

Jungle Formula -This is one that I had to throw in there. I use a nearly a whole bottle of this for a week in Corfu.  Corfu is notorious for mosquitoes but I must taste delicious because I get eaten alive.  This stuff stinks, like really stinks, but it keeps the mosquitoes away so it’s worth it.

Nars Blush in Amour- I love this blush. It’s a gorgeous colour that can be worn every day and a little really goes a long way. That’s all I’m going to say for now as I am going to do a full review in the next couple of days.

Bourjois blush in shade 02- Sticking with the blush theme... This is another amazing blusher. It was my first ever cream blush and I love it. The colour is amazing for when you have a slight tan as it gives you a real natural glow. I ended up wearing it every night on my holidays I liked it that much. I do think its best applied with my finger to give that much more natural finish that I like but maybe that is because I don’t have the right brush?

M.A.C Vegas volt - I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned this lipstick before because it’s one of my all time favourites anyway, but when the sun comes out I love it even more. Its bright orange colour that, again, looks gorgeous with a tan. I would definitely recommend that if you own this lipstick you take it on holiday with you.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation- I love love love this foundation. I have been wearing it most days since I purchased it about a month ago.  It’s a really nice consistency that blends really well. It is medium coverage but easily buildable to achieve a higher coverage. Another thing it actually has a nice smell, sort of fruity.

Soleil Tan De Chanel: This is another product that I use every now and then during the rest of the year, however in the summer it becomes my best friend. It’s a lovely shade that is not muddy and looks natural if it is blended in correctly. The only thing that gets me with this is the size. It’s really big and bulky which means it’s not great for travelling, if only they did it in a mini!

Treseme Heat Defence: This is a product that is talked about quite a bit on the internet that I’ve been curious about trying for a long time. So I bit the bullet and bought a travel size one to take away with me.  However since then I bought the full size one as well but I’ve enjoyed using it so much. It has a lovely smell and I do think it’s made a difference to my hair whilst straightening it. I haven’t noticed as many split or frazzled hairs since I’ve started using it.
There you go guys, that was my June favourites. I can’t actually believe that we are in July already, this year is going so fast I can practically here the Christmas carols!
What were your favourites this month?

Haul Part Two

Hey Guys,

I’m back with part two of my recent haul. Today I’m talking about the items I purchased in a blog sale.

I would definitely recommend blog sales, they’re a great way to grab a bargain!

  • Nars Blush in Amour: This is probably my favourite purchase I’ve made recently. It is my first ever Nars product and I am really happy with it. It’s the most gorgeous pink colour that I think will work on a lot of different skin tones.  And even though it’s hardly been used, I managed to get it for a bargain price. I’m going to do a full review on this product so watch out for that.
  • 17 Blush in First Flush: I think I went a little blush mad recently, but its fine! Again this is really nice light pink shade. For a cheaper brand this pigmentation is really good and I’m happy I bought this.
  • Illamasqua Powder Shadow in Bronx : This is a gorgeous shimmery gold/bronze colour. Again I am really happy with this product and I can’t wait to try some looks with it.
  • Revlon Matte Lipsticks in shades 002 Pink Pout and 011 Stormy Pink: I really like both of these shades. But Pink Pout is actually a good dupe for M.A.C Please Me they are really similar.
There you have it. I think I got some really nice stuff and all for the bargain price of £30!
Have you ever bought anything from a Blog sale?

Haul Part One

Hey Guys,
I am back today with a haul, a two part haul. I have a couple of items that I purchased in superdrug during the week and a couple of items that i purchased on a blog sale last week as well.
First part one the items from Superdrug.  Recently I have used up a lot of my make-up purely because I haven’t had the money to repurchase anything. However I recently started a new job so I thought I would treat myself.

  • Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation : I’ve been wanting to try this foundation for  a while as I’ve heard quite good things about it. I’ve used it twice and I have to say that I am quite liking it.
  • Sleek Eyebrow Kit : This is something that I felt I have to buy. I must admit that my eyebrows are the one thing on my face that gets neglected and I just wanted to see if I paid more attention to them if it made a difference.  So I think this product is a good place to start.
  • Bourjois Cream Blush 02: Again this a product that I have heard quite a lot about and was itching to try. I have never owned a cream blush before and to be honest they have always scared me a little bit. But I decided to bight the bullet and go for it. I picked this gorgeous Coral shade which I thought would be perfect for spring and summer.
  • MUA Blusher in shades, 01 and 02: These were just something I thought I should try as I liked the colours and they were only £1 each, bargain.
  • MUA Cover & Conceal in Natural: Again this was another product that interested me and for only £2 I thought why not! I have used this once or twice and I like it. I don’t know if i like it as much as other Concealers I have tried but I’ll let you know.

Just to let you know, Superdrug currently has a 3 for 2 offers across all of their cosmetics. So there are some bargains to be had!

Lush: Ocean Salt Facial Scrub

Hey Guys,
Sorry about the lack of posts recently, I’ve just started a new job so I’ve been running around like a headless chicken and had no time to post.  However I have had time to shop ;).
Today, though, I’m back with another lush review.  Today I’m talking about the Ocean Salt facial scrub.  Again this was a product I received in a gift set for my birthday.

I absolutely love this scrub. It’s amazing.  The smell is a little meh, I don’t love it but I don’t dislike it so it doesn’t really bother me.
The only thing that I would say is it’s very abrasive so if you have really sensitive skin I wouldn’t recommend it. However I like to use once a week to get a really deep clean.
This is one I will be repurchasing when I’ve finished because I have enjoyed using it so much.
Have you ever tried this? What is your favourite facial scrub?

Lush: Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub

Hey Guys,

If you saw my birthday haul you’ll notice that my lovely boyfriend bought me some goodies from lush! I’ve had a chance to use most of them now so I thought I’d let you know my thoughts on them.

So today I’m going to review the Rub Rub Rub shower scrub.  I really like this scrub it’s not to abrasive which I like because I can use it every day.

The smell is nice enough, it’s not my favourite smell but it’s okay.
The only thing that worries me is the fact the product is quite runny so I don’t think it’s going to take very long to use the whole tub. So if I was to repurchase this I don’t know if I’d get value for money.
Speaking of the fact it’s runny, its also blue and really reminds me of a blue slush puppy that you used to get back in the day! (Anybody else get that or just me?)
Overall I think I’d like to try some different scrubs from lush before I would repurchase this one but I am enjoying using this.
Have you tried this product? How did you get on with it?

M.A.C Studio Sculpt Foundation

Hey Guys,

Recently you saw that I purchased the Studio Sculpt foundation from M.A.C. so I thought I would let you know my thoughts on it.

I picked this foundation up in NW20.The first thing that I noticed was the smell. This foundation stinks, it sort of smells of burnt coffee. You can’t smell it once it’s on your face but while your applying it the smell it pretty strong.
If you can ignore the smell the consistency of this foundation is actually really nice its not to thick but it’s quite easy to work with. Having said that, I think, that the best way to apply this foundation is to use your finger as it warms it up and makes it even easier to work with. I would say it’s a medium coverage, you can still see my freckles underneath it, and if you can stand the smell it’s quite buildable as well.
Overall I will use all of this foundation but I definitely don’t think I’ll be repurchasing it, just because M.A.C do loads more foundations that I love.
Have you tried this foundation? Do you like it?

Soap And Glory Thick And Fast Mascara

Hey guys,

I’m back today with a review of one of my favourite Mascaras. It is Soap and Glory’s Thick and Fast Mascara.

This mascara baffles me as I previously had a tube of this and I didn’t like it. It dried out really quick and left clumps on my eyelashes.

However I got this tube in my set that I got for Christmas and I love it. It really lengthens my eyelashes without leaving any clumps or clogging them together so they look like spider legs. It’s not great at curling your eyelashes, however, but you can just curl you eyelashes before hand or use a curling mascara first.

In fact when I wore it for the first time two different people asked if I was wearing false eyelashes.

The only thing with this mascara is it does dry out quickly and you would probably have to repurchase it every two months. But in my opinion it’s worth it, if only for the compliments.

There’s not really much more to say except I really like this and would definitely recommend it.
