Asos Wishlist



So as usual I was casually browsing through some online stores looking at all the things that I can’t afford and I decided to have a look on Asos. I’m very hit and miss with Asos sometimes there are loads of things that take my fancy and sometimes there is zilch. However this was a very good day!

So I thought I would share with you some of the pieces that particularly caught my eye. My favourite piece is bright coloured floral dress, I think this would be an ideal dress to carry you through the whole summer (weather permitting)! And the River Island Kaftan on the bottom left would be lovely on the beach or around the pool.

7 Things for 7 days :)

Hey guys,

A couple of weeks ago while I was undertaking my daily habit of reading blogs I decided to start with my favourite blogger who is Louise from sprinkleofglitter. Without wanting to sound soppy and a bit weird Louise is one of the reasons I decided to take the leap and start my own blog. Anyway, enough of that she had wrote a post that inspired me it was about setting yourself weekly goals in order to motivate yourself to do things you wouldn’t normally do.  I thought this was a really good idea if, like me, you’ve found yourself in a little bit of a rut recently. Anyway back to the point of this post, this week Louise has decided to make this an interactive post that everybody can join in with to make everyone feel good about themselves J such a lovely idea!

So here goes;

Now I am cheating a bit as my goals are not for the next seven days but for the next month. Sneaky I know, ha! I’ve done this because I have just taken on another job as well as my current job so as you can guess I’m a bit busy at the moment.

My goals are:

1.       Relax – This applies to everything; work,uni,home everything.  I need to learn that certain things, such as uni results, are out of my control and there is nothing i can do about them so I shouldn’t stress. Easier said than done.

2.       Spend some quality time with Stuart – this one is pretty self explanatory. Although I do spend a fair amount of time with Stuart, it’s not always quality time, if that makes sense. So I’m making this a goal to do something romantic such as cook a meal for him and really have a proper conversation.  N’aww

3.       Be more organised – Organise my bedroom, my wardrobe, my make up. I’m not fussed what I organise I just want to get that feeling of accomplishment that you get when something looks neat and tidy J

4.       Improve my skin care routine – Lately my skin has felt really neglected because, hands down, I’ve been lazy lately and not really bothered with skincare. Now my skin is fighting back and pretty much demanding that I fix this problem.

5.       Get to the gym – Last month me and my best friend joined a gym with all the best intentions but have only managed to get there once a fortnight, bad I know. I hate wasting money so I feel guilty for not going as much as I should.  So by this time next month I want to be going at least once a week.

6.       Eat Better – This is a pretty similar goal to number five. At the minute I really want to improve my overall health and fitness, not just to lose weight (although that would be an added bonus) but just to make it so I can walk up stairs without feeling like I’m about to drop dead.

7.       Read – I am an avid reader and love nothing more than sitting down and getting lost in a book. However due to uni and all other things I have seven new books that are sitting un loved on my book shelf just waiting for me.  So I have decided that I am going to read at least one of them, hopefully more. I am going on holiday within this month and I normally read at least two on my holiday so I’m not going to count those, because that would be cheating ;)

So there you have it. I am already feeling excited and motivated about completing these goals! However if I don’t manage them all that’s all right as well and I won’t be disheartened.

I’ll be sure to let you know how I get on with these goals!

My Mac Palette

Hey Guys,

I'm back. Once again I'm sorry for being a rubbish blogger lately but hopefully that should all change (she says)

The first post that I thought I should start with is my newest addition to my make-up collection. To help cheer myself up during the final weeks of uni I decided that i would finally take the plunge and purchase some Mac eye shadows.

While I have been a lover of Mac for a lot of years I’ve never been interested in the eye shadows, not because I didn’t like them but I never used to bother with eye shadows. That was partly because I never knew what I was doing and partly because I just liked the look of just black liner on the lid so I stuck with that look for about two years.

However recently I have become OBSESSED with all brands and finishes of eye shadows so I thought it was time to bite the bullet and buy some from Mac.  

Now I was in two minds whether or not to just buy them in the individual pots but I thought purely just for my holidays the palette would be so much easier to carry and not take up so much space in my case. 
I must admit I spent about an hour deciding on the colours I wanted and originally I only wanted to get two along with the palette but I ended up getting three, oops. There are so many gorgeous colours available at Mac that I’ve already mentally filled most of my palette.

The colours that I decided, eventually, to go with were: Vanilla- which is a gorgeous shimmery cream colour, perfect for a base colour.

 I then picked up Malt which isn’t as brown as I would have liked it to be, it’s more of a pinky/brown nude colour but I still love it!

This looks a lot darker than it actually is, (rubbish camera)

And the last colour that I decided on was Woodwinked which is a brow/gold which I thought would be an ideal shade for every day!

Aww they look all lonely, I should buy more to keep them company ;)

So far I’m really happy with the colours that I picked, the pigmentation is amazing. The only thing I have noticed is that I do need to wear an eye shadow primer to get the full colour pay off, but that may just be my eyelids.

Hey Guys, Sorry I know I've been a rubbish blogger lately! My deadlines for uni fast approached so that's kept me really busy! However thankfully I have FINALLY finished uni :D Wooo! Stila: In The Light Palette

As I mentioned in my previous post I recently purchased the Stila In the Light palette. I didn't talk too much about this as I thoroughly believe that this baby deserves a whole post of its own.

This is the first Stila product that I own, I have been admiring things from this range for so long but I was too anxious to pay money for a brand I had never tried for fear of not liking it. However after I had seen various reviews on this palette I just knew that I had to own it. So I bit the bullet, and I will never look back. I am very excited to start and try other products from Stila.

This Is the one of the only negatives that I have to say about this palette is that I am not overly impressed with the packaging. Whilst I do think it looks cute, essentially it is just made of cardboard, which you can sort of see in the pictures dents really easily! This makes it look grubby and old and I like to keep things look new for as long as possible.

I actually LOVE these shades out of the ten there are four matte shades and six shimmery shades. I do generally prefer matte shades as I find them easier to wear everyday for work and uni. However I am still loving the shimmer shades within this palette as I think these are wearable without looking too much for during the day.  My favourite shades are: Kitten, Bliss and Sandstone.  The only shade that I don’t think that I will wear as much, if at all is: Night Sky, and this is only because this colour is like a grey/blue and it's not a colour I can imagine me ever wearing.  

 

So not only do you get all of these beautiful eye shadows you all get a full sized smudgestick in Damsel which is a nice black/brown shade.  I don’t normally stray from black eyeliner however I think that I could warm to this shade and make it work.

This palette also comes with a handy little look book showing you some easy ways to use the eye shadows to create some easy to wear looks.  

Final thoughts: While I’m not over the moon with the packaging on this the product inside well but makes up for this. The shades are gorgeous, pigmented and very wearable.

Boots Haul :)

Hi guys,

So the other day me and one of my good friends decided to have a girly day at the Metro Centre, do some shopping have some food and go to the pictures. Side Note: The Avengers is such an awesome film, everyone should go see it!

So obviously while we there I had to go in to boots (just for a look) and ended up spending waayy to much money. But in my defence the things I picked up I’ve had my eye on for a while, that makes it okay right? Prepare for the very picture heavy post!

So the first thing that I picked up was the Philosophy purity cleanser.

I was actually in my local boots the other day looking at this and I was in two minds whether to actually buy it or not, purely because I had never tried it and I didn’t want to waste a lot of money on a product I wouldn’t use. However one of the girls who worked there gave me a few samples to take home and try out. What can I say, other than I fell in love. Not only does this product take your make-up off but it left my skin feeling so soft and really clean. So despite the hefty price tag I knew I had to own my very own bottle. I’ll let you know how I feel about this product in the long term but I’m sure I’ll still be in love.

The next thing that I picked up was the Stila: In the light palette. I had seen this on Asos when I was browsing and I did like the look of it but I am so dubious about buying makeup over the internet because you can never really tell if the colours are true or not. However last week I read a blog post buy Gemma which you can read here where she said she thought it was better than the naked palette! So I just knew with statements like that, that I had to try this out for myself. Now I’m not going to talk more about this because I think it deserves a whole post all to its own where it can be truly appreciated J .

Now I won’t talk too much about this bronzer because it has done the rounds in the beauty world for some time now, with people either loving or hating it. Despite this I thought I would give it a go as it’s the perfect colour for me when I’m wearing fake tan.

The next thing I picked up were these two Cream Puff Lip Creams from Collection 2000. Again I’ve read loads of blog posts on these so I won’t go in to two much detail. I really like these two colours as I think they are both wearable pinks that aren’t going to make you look like a Barbie wannabe. They also have a really nice finish, not sticky at all!

So then I wandered over to the Rimmel London Stand, and I am a sucker for an offer so completely fell for the: spend over £10 and get a free Mascara offer that they had on! In my defence I did need a new Mascara anyway, honest!

The first thing that I bought was the Kate Moss Lipstick in 05 which is a really nice pink shade. Also this lipstick smells gorgeous, I can’t put my finger on what it smells like but trust me it’s nice!

I then thought I would try the Wake Me Up Concealer. I’ve heard such good things about the foundation, so I have such high hopes for this.

The free Mascara that I got was the Scandleyes Mascara. I’ve yet to try this but I like the look of it! It has a nice fat brush which I like because it reaches all the lashes, the consistency looks really good as well, it looks like it won’t clump!

There you go that was my whole haul, I am more than aware I went slightly over board but I am going to put my self on a spending ban for a while in the hope my bank balance will have time to recover.

Bomb Cosmetics: As Good As Lush?

Recently me and the other half fancied a trip out of the house so we went to Hexam which is about 45 minutes away from where I live. Whilst there we went in to Beales department store which had a bomb cosmetics section! Now I had heard seen bomb cosmetics on other people blogs and YouTube videos, but to be honest I thought why bother when you can go to Lush? How wrong was I? I'm completely converted! Granted, there isn't as large a variety of stock with Bomb Cosmetics as Lush but seriously, who cares! The products they do look and smell gorgeous so I just had to pick some up. However I only picked up a few things just incase I wasn't keen. I now wish I'd bought more!
The first thing that I picked up was this soap:

Strawberry Fields Soap : £2.49

This is the only product that I've had a chance to try out so far and I really enjoyed using this! That was mainly down to the smell that this has! All of the smells are very sweet to the point of almost being sickly so if thats not your thing I would maybe reconsider purchasing these.

The next thing I pick up was two bath melts. The first one:


Strawberry Bath Creamer : £2.09

And this One:

Lemon Express Bath Mallow : £2.09

Im quite excited to try these out as the smell that these have are gorgeous especially the Lemon Express Bath Mellow which smells exactly like lemon cheescake, yum!
I shall let you know how I rate these once I've had a chance to try them out.
