My New Make-up Bag

Today I'm going to show you my new make-up bag. I was lucky enough to receive house of Fraser gift cards for Christmas of my lovely mam :)  I knew straight away what the first thing I was going to purchase was.
A lot of bloggers and vloggers have some version of this make-up bag, I can see why, there beautiful. I've been lusting after one for months now. Every time I'm anywhere that sells them I always pick one up and look at them. In fact I was almost going to by myself one before Christmas but I still had presents to buy. I must admit now I am so pleased I didn't buy one before. This mint colour with the silver hardware is, in my opinion, is the most beautiful version out there. Its from the new spring collection which is beautiful, the purses were to die for.
I normally keep my make-up in my drawers at home, but I really wanted a make-up bag for when I stay out. I think this one will be ideal as you can wipe it down if, like me, you get dirty finger marks on everything. The other thing is its a really good size, big enough for a large amount of products as well as any brushes you may need.

Yes this is a bit pricey for a make-up bag but I do think as a little treat for yourself or if you receive it as a present its worth it.
So what do you think? How do you store your make-up?

Review: Maybelline Baby Skin

Hey Guys,
Today I thought I would share my thoughts on the Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser Primer.
I'm sure there are hundreds of reviews floating about on the internet but I thought I'd stick my tuppence worth in.

This is supposed to be a dupe for the Benefit Porefessional primer, which I didn't really get along with when I tried it. They are very similar silicone based primers. The only thing is the Benefit one you can wear alone if you have really good skin, but I don't think you can with this one.
That being said I did'nt mind it but at the same time I didn't love it. I think its the silicone formula that I'm not keen on. I mean it does minimize pores  but personally it makes me feel like I'm wearing another layer of skin that feels quite greasy. It does also help your make-up last that little bit longer.
Because of it's really good price point I would say if you like the Benefit version you should definitley try it. But if you already have oily skin or, like me, don't like that silicone feeling I would maybe stay clear.

Have you tried this? Whats your favourite primer?

Review: Bleach London Silver Shampoo

Hey Guys,

I'm back today to share with you my thoughts on the Bleach London silver shampoo. For those of you who don't know I'm currently going through the loooong process of lightning my hair. Because my hair is naturally dark this means at the minute I'm sporting the ombre look with slightly brassy orange at the ends.

I have been using the Provoke silver shampoo to take the brassyness away. This has been working fine but it leaves my hair feeling quite dry and in need of a good hair mask!

I had seen everybody and their gran mention the Bleach London colours recently. So when I was in boots and noticed they also did a silver shampoo I thought I would give it a try.

To be totally honest I'm not that impressed. To be fair it does do what it claims and reduces the brassyness but its no more special than the provoke shampoo. It still dries your hair out. What I like to do is mix it with another shampoo so its not to bad for your hair.

So I think that if your only using this once a week in the way its designed you might as well get the cheaper option. That being said I think its a really great brand and some of the colours they do look really nice.

Have you tried this or any other silver shampoo? Let me know what you think.

New Years Resolutions

Happy New Year Guys and Hello 2014!!

(image: weheartit

So its that time of year again where we all set ourselves completely unrealistic resolutions that we will probably have failed by the end of January. So this year I decided to give my self goals, realistic goals. I have also promised myself not to feel to bad if I do end up failing, so what! I also thought I would share them with you, being as how I intend on making this blog a much bigger focus in my life. So here goes;

  1.  Blog More: Now because I am being realistic I am not going to set myself a time scale such as twice a week. I just want to blog more than I do now. I really enjoy blogging and I do get mad when I realize I have hardly blogged throughout 2013 so I intend to change this.
  2. Take More Photos: When I get old I want to be able to look back on my life and be able to share that with my kids and grand-kids and say 'look is what I did'. Even if its just pictures of my mundane everyday life I want to document it and treasure every moment.
  3. Be Healthier: This is a popular one this time of year, especially with me. Every year I say I'm going to join a gym and start a diet and two weeks in I have completely given up. So in order to be more realistic I am going to try and just not eat rubbish while i'm at my desk at work and cut down on the Chinese food. I am also going to try and take my dogs on longer walks which will benefit them as well as me.
There you have it, my three simple goals that I want to achieve in 2014. I fully intent on taking you along the journey with me. I'll let you know how I do and I want you all to know it's okay if you don't manage to reach your goals, please don't be to hard on your self. 2014 is going to be a good year!!
Let me know what goals you have set yourself.
