March Photo Challenge #22

Hey Guys,

Welcome back to day 22 of the March photo challenge, let’s be honest, I’ve been a bit rubbish with this whole thing really?! Today’s photo is ‘Guilty Pleasure’
I spent a while thinking about what my guilty pleasure is. To be honest I didn’t really know what to do for this one. I suppose the one thing that some people might think is my guilty pleasure is the trashy TV that I watch!

In Stuarts opinion all the TV that I watch is rubbish but he watches Top Gear so he can’t really say anything can he?   At the minute I’ve been really getting in to watching Keeping Up With The Kardashians! I know, its pure rubbish but I can’t stop myself from watching it!
See you tomorrow for day 23.

Foundation Review : Maybelline Fit Foundation

Hey Guys,

I’m back today with another foundation review for you all. Again this is another Drugstore foundation that I’ve been trying out.

So today’s review is going to be all about the Maybelline Fit Me foundation.

The idea behind this range is that there is a Concealer, foundation and pressed powder all in the same colour. And instead of you finding your perfect shade the colour is supposed to mould its self to your skin tone.

I wasn’t sucked in by the whole range because I didn’t want to waste my money if I didn’t like them.

As you can see I matched myself to shade 135. Now I think I must have had fake tan on this day as without it this is slightly to dark for me which makes it harder to wear.

The consistency of this is really quite runny, which means you have to work quickly with it otherwise it ends up all over the place. Once you manage to get it on your face however I find it quite easy to work with. It’s really buildable without looking cakey.

However the staying power of this foundation is rubbish! It maybe stays on your face looking nice about 4 hours and then you really need to touch it up. Maybe if id bought the powder as well it might last longer but I’m still pleased I didn’t.

This is definitely one that I won’t be repurchasing. I don’t even know if I’ll finish the bottle as I hardly ever wear fake tan any more, maybe in the summer it might come back out.

Let me know if you’ve tried this foundation before and what you thought.

Foundation Review - Loreal Infallible

Hey Guys,

I’m back today with a foundationreview for you all. I’m actually thinking about doing a series of foundationreviews. Over the years I’ve tried out somany foundations, so good, some not so good.  I thought about just writing reviews on myfavourites but then I thought that it would probably be a good idea to sharewith you the ones I didn’t like and why.
So I’m going to start the serieswith some drugstore foundations that I’m currently using then share with yousome of the high end foundations that I have in my collection.

So today’s review is going to beall about the L’Oreal Infallible, lasting perfecting foundation.
First things first I have absolutelyno idea what shade I am in this foundation as it says nowhere on the actualbottle. I have a feeling that it may have had a sticker on the lid, but the lidseems to have vanished in to thin air. Doesanybody else find this? On minute the lid is there, then poof, gone?
However I do think this is a goodcolour on me managing to hide my yellow skin tone. I tend to use my RealTechniques Buffing brush to apply this as a regular foundation brush can makeit look a little cakey.
It’s slightly thick inconsistency, which personally I prefer to really runny foundations because Ifind them easier to work with.

It is a medium coveragefoundation that you can build up to a full coverage if you wanted however Ifind that once you apply more foundation on top of the first layer it makes myskin start to look really dry.
The one thing that I disagreewith is the 16 hour wear claim that it makes on the bottle. I’m sorry but noway does this last 16 hours. I generally work 9- 6 during the day and if you don’tuse a setting powder or spray it does start to wear off by the end of the day.Annoyingly just in patches as well. However with my M.A.C finishing powder it does last the whole day.

All in all I have enjoyed usingthis foundation and will continue to use it until it’s all gone. If I couldwork out what colour it’s in I may even repurchase it.

Let me know if you’ve tried thisfoundation before? What are your favourite drugstore foundations?

My New Hair

Hey Guys,

Finally I have had my hair done!! I’ve gone from a boring light brown with red undertones to a gorgeous dark brown! I love this colour but I do intend on getting something a bit lighter for the summer. This colour was just basically to cover the red before anything else can happen.

February Favourites

Hey Guys,
I’m back with my monthly favourites, a slightly late February favourites.

L’Oreal Infallible foundation. I picked this up a couple of weeks ago and I love it! Not going to say too much about it as I have a full review coming up in the next couple of days.

M.A.C Prep & Prime Transparent Finishing Powder.  This is something I picked up months ago and wasn’t really impressed with it. However I started using it again in February and this with the L’Oreal foundation is the perfect combination! My makeup does not budge all day. Normally when I’m at work by the time I get home I’m a dishevelled mess but not with these products.

The Body Shop Cranberry Joy Lip Balm. This was my bargain of the month. It was in the sale for £2. The smell is gorgeous and it is really moisturising! I’ll definitely be purchasing some more of the lip balms from the Body Shop.

M.A.C Lipstick in Pink Pearl. This is lovely, slightly shimmery, pink colour. It has slight blue undertones, which I love!

Imperial Leather Blackberry and Fig Bath Crème. This stuff smells delicious!! It smells, obviously, like blackberries but Its really sweet at the same time.
There you go guys, let me know what your monthly favourites are!

My Ombre Hair Fail

Hey Guys,

So a while back in a n.o.t.d post I hinted at the fact that I may have dyed my hair red. I thought that I could tell you about this briefly but in all fairness it’s a long story.
So for about a year now I have been lusting after ombre hair, deluding myself that I would look like a beach goddess with beautiful wavy hair and everyone would be whispering ooohs and aaahs as I walked past. This was not the case!

Before I dyed my hair au natural!

So in about November time I saw an advert on the tele for the L’Oreal dip dye kit that claimed to be the easiest and best way to ombre your hair at home even coming with a fancy little brush that promised to make it all the more easy. So off i trotted to my local boots full of confidence. This soon changed. I got the kit home and decided to try it there and then.  I decided to try it just on the underneath of my hair in case I hated it, best decision ever. I eventually managed to get a decent covering of the bleach no thanks to that daft little brush.  The box recommends leaving the bleach on at least 40 minutes if you had dark hair, which I did. After about 10 minutes I had a really bad headache off the bleach, I am not exaggerating when I say it was the strongest smelling stuff in the world. I decided to leave it on an extra 10 minutes to ensure I got the really light look I had in mind. I washed it off only to discover that my hair was now an awful orangey yellow colour that was awful. There and then I decided no way was I doing the top layers of my hair. Luckily I was meeting my friends in Durham for lunch so I hid my hair in a ponytail and walked straight in to Sally’s and picked up a crazy colour in the colour fire red. This was the colour I had been using previously to have red hair.  Now I love my red hair so I felt instantly better once it was back to red. However because I had bleached the ends the colour really stuck to the ends which left a really nice effect of ombre red that I really like.
Not the best photo but you can see the colour quite clearly.

Now as I write this I have currently let the red wash out as at the end of the month I want to go a nice chocolate brown colour. Then work on getting a few highlights through ready for the summer! My hairdresser is going to love me!
Let me know if any of you have tried the L'oreal kit and if it worked for you.
