Holiday Hair Heros

Hey Guys,
So as you know, because I haven’t stopped waffling on about it, I came back off holiday this time last week. The main problem that I have when I go on holiday is that my poor hair suffers and becomes extremely dry. I have quite dry hair anyway so the heat and humidity just make it so much worse. So this year I was determined to try and tackle this. The first thing that I decided to do was to try and not use any extra heat on my hair. Now I’m not going to lie I did take my hair dryer and straightners but I must have used them a maximum of three times in the whole fortnight.  As well as this I thought I would share with you the products that I took with me.

Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo and Conditioner - So this is pretty self explanatory really. I really like Aussie products they are my favourite brand of shampoo and conditioner to use at home so I thought I would give this one a go while I was away. I really liked these and thought the conditioner especially, really helped my hair not to dry out as much.
No7 Hair Protecting Spritz -  This is a sort of light spray on conditioner that you use during the day. The bottle recommends that you use it before and during sun exposure as well as every time you get out of the pool or the sea.  I used nearly the whole bottle of this during my two week holiday. I was really impressed with this product; I definitely think that this really helped my hair to not get all tangled and horrible after I had been in the pool! Also it was a bargain at £6!
KERASTASE Deep Conditioning Treatment – Okay so I’m only guessing that this is what the product is actually called because all the writing is in French, I think. My boyfriends mum got some of these samples off her friend but she only has short hair so she gave me a couple to try out. I loved this stuff! I am going to have to see if I can hunt it out because I need this in my life! I used it after my conditioner and my hair loved it, It left my hair feeling gorgeous and really moisturised. In fact I can't say enough good things about this product, if you suffer from dry hair you need to try this.
So there you have it, those are the products that I used to try and keep my dry hair at bay. My hair still ended up being slightly dry when I came home but let’s be honest that was always going to happen. However I can honestly say that by using these products my hair was nowhere near as dry as it normally is, yaay.
What do you think? Do you suffer from dry hair? What are your miracle products?

7 Things for 7 Days Catch-Up

Hey Guys,
Just over a month ago I posted this post about deciding to set myself goals in order to re motivate myself and improve my mental wellbeing.
So I thought I would share with you how I got on with the goals.
Relax – During the month I allocated myself to complete these goals I was on holiday for two weeks where I did nothing but relax and it was fantastic. However when I came I made a promise to myself that I would try and relax more at home. A happy Jessica equals a happy world J so this goal is still a work in progress.
Spend some quality time with Stuart – This was goal was fully managed and me and Stuart managed to spend lots of time together, this is going to be a running goal that is always going to be in the back of my mind.
Be more organised – This goal was forced upon me as I had to organise my bedroom as I have been getting a new double bed so I decided to sort out my whole room. And I definitely feel better for it, I now feel loads calmer when I walk in my room and there is not clutter everywhere!
Improve my skin care routine – This was another goal that I half completed, while I was on holiday I really looked after my skin. Making sure it was protected during the day and cleansed on a night. However since I have come back I have only managed to do it a couple of nights, but it is definitely improving!
Get to the gym – I am now in a regular routine of going to the gym at least once a week, a few more of my friends have joined the same gym as me so we are all motivating each other.
Eat better – My diet has definitely improved because I am now also attending the gym regularly. I mean there is no point in sweating it out at the gym and coming home and scoffing a huge Chinese is there? I still do have the odd takeaway but its the everything in moderation rule that works for me. If I have a Chinese than ill be really good the next day.
Read – Before my holidays I managed to read the Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy, ooh err. I really enjoyed those books, to anyone who hasn’t read them I promise they are just about the filthy stuff, the love story and background of the two main characters is beautiful. Whilst on my holidays I managed to read The Charming Man by Marian Keyes and The Book of Tomorrow by Cecelia Ahern, book great books by the way. I have also purchased the first in both the Twilight and Hunger Games books as well as Stephen King’s 11/22/63. I am actively going to try and find time to make sure I read these!

I don’t know if this is something that I will continue with every month, but it certainly got me out of the rut that I was stuck in. If I am ever feeling like that again it’s something I will use to pick myself up.
What do you think? Do you think this is a good idea? Have you tried it?

Whats In My Holiday Makeup Bag

Hey guys,
So I’m back from my holidays, sad times. I enjoyed a fantastic two weeks in Corfu with Stuart and didn’t want to come home.  I have a few holiday related posts coming up that I did fully intend to have up before I went away but alas life got in the way. Better late than never I suppose?

So I thought I would start with showing you guys the makeup that I took on holiday. Now I understand that there are a lot of girls out there who wear no make-up when they are abroad, and that’s great, in fact I wish I could do that. However I don’t feel comfortable enough to do this and feel that I still need make-up.

I do end up taking more make-up than I actually wear though, so every year I say that I won’t take as much the next year but that never happens. So here goes;

No7 Hair Protecting Spritz
MAC Fix+
Urban Decay Naked2
MAC Studio Fix - NW25
MAC Powder Blush - Pink Swoon
MAC Fluidline - BlackTrack
No7 Brow Pencil - Brown
MAC Eye Kohl - Smolder
MAC Lipsticks - Impassioned, Vegas Volt, Pink Nouveau
MAC Haute & Naughty Lash
YSL Touche Eclat - Shade 2
Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer - Classic Beige
Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua - Beige
Soleil Tan De Chanel
Avon SPF 15 Clear Lipgloss

So what do you think? Do you take make-up on holiday, or are your au natural?

Beauty Wishlist

So once again I’ve been doing that really addictive thing of browsing the internet for beauty items that I’m interested in trying. These are things that I’ve read about on blogs and seen on YouTube. Now I wouldn’t say that I’m the type of person who buys things just because other people have it, but if lots of people are telling you a certain product is fantastic then it’s bound to peak your interest. So these are the things I’m lusting after;

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish - I think I must be the only person out there who has never tried this product. Recently my best friend purchased this and she can not stop raving about it. So I am definitely going to be purchasing this on my next shopping trip!

Caudalie beauty elixir - Again another product that everybody is loving at the moment. I must admit I really only want to try this because I’m curious to see if it is actually any good.

Shiseido Suncare Sun Protection Liquid Foundation N SPF30 - This is not to commonly talked about but I have heard some really good reviews about it. I am currently in need of a light coverage foundation that is perfect for my holidays and the summer.

Shiseido The Makeup Perfect Foundation Brush – This one is purely to go with the foundation, and because it looks pretty. That’s allowed right?
Stila One Step Correct – Recently I’ve really been enjoying Stila products and every time I’m looking at their products I always find myself going back to this product, so I can see myself purchasing it in the near future.
What do you think? Have you tried any of these products? What are you lusting after?

June favourites

Hey guys,

One of my favourite blogs to read and videos to watch are monthly favourites. This is because they give you a real insight in to what products are actually worth buying because they actually work. Sometimes you see beauty gurus showing the products that they have been buying and then you never here about them again, which always leave me wondering how they actually got on with the product and if it worked for them.
That being said, I thought I would share some of the products that I have been loving throughout June. This also might become a regular thing seeing as how I love them so much.

Collection 2000 CreamPuff in Fairy Cake - Not an awful lot that I can say about this product except that it is a really nice colour to wear either during the day or on a night. I have been wearing this pretty much every day through June as it stays on for ages so I don’t have to keep re-applying whilst I’m at work. I just love this!

MAC Fix+ - This was a recent purchase that I have grown to love instantly. I have heard people say how well this worked and part of me always thought that this couldn’t be true. However I am really pleasantly surprised with this. Not only does it make your makeup last that little bit longer than it normally would, it is a great refresher for your face when it’s warm outside. In the north east of England the weather has been pretty pants with thunderstorms and constant rain, but it has still been very warm and sticky which plays havoc with my makeup. This is great to carry around in your bag for days like that as a quick spray really leaves me feeling instantly refreshed.

The pump doesn't come with this foundation, it's just one I've bought from MAC because I prefer a pump.

Estee Lauder Double Wear – Now I know that this is not to every bodies taste as it is simply too thick for some people. However that is what I like about it, I love the coverage that it gives me, covering all of my imperfections. I have actually just ran out of this foundation after about three months, you only need the tiniest bit blended in well to cover your whole face.  This will definitely be on my re-purchase list as soon as next pay day comes.

Stila In The Light Palette – This includes the whole palette as recently I have been loving the majority of colours within this palette. They are really easy to wear day time colours that take no time at all to apply. They all blend really well to give a perfect Smokey eye look that can carry you from day to night.

Philosophy Purity Cleanser – I am totally in love with this product! It takes my make up off brilliantly while leaving my skin soft and totally clean. There is not a lot more to say really except this is totally worth the money and everyone needs it in their life!

What are your favourites for this month? Have you tried any of mine?

Chanel Splurge

Hey guys,
The other day me and the other half went to the metro centre to get the last bits for our holidays. We needed all the boring things like toothpaste and insect repellent, exciting stuff eh? The one thing I was looking for was a tinted moisturiser to wear on an evening. While I don't want to be smothering my face in my regular foundation, which just happens to be Estée Lauder double wear,  I still feel like I need some sort of coverage. This is why I originally wanted a tinted moisturiser, but it was completely impossible to find one I liked. Every one that i looked at I just wasn't happy with for one reason or another, maybe I'm just fussy. So as I was getting towards the end of my tether and quite frustrated I suddenly had my hallelujah moment. I have read loads of really positive reviews about the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation and have wanted to try it for ages. I remembered that it was water based, as the name would suggest, and people had said it offered a very lightweight feel and minimum coverage. So off I tottered in to boots, got to get those advantage card points!

The lady at the Chanel counter was lovely and matched me up with the correct shade for my skin tone, which is; 30 Beige
When I was talking to her I mentioned that the foundation was to wear while I was on my holidays and she said rather than getting a darker shade of foundation I  should warm the colour up with a bronzer.  As soon as this was mentioned I knew where this conversation was going to go, me spending excessive amounts of money.  However even I must admit that as soon as she showed me how the Soleil Tan De Chanel worked, I was in love and knew I needed this in my life.

Oooh Pretty

I've yet to actually wear either of those products because I wanted to keep them all new and pretty for my holidays, but I have tried them on my hand
The foundation is ideal for what I wanted it for, very light, easily bendable and minimum coverage. Not great if you do prefer a more full coverage which I must admit I normally do. However it is buildable to give you the coverage you need or prefer.

The bronzer is AMAZING, I've already tried a tiny bit of this on the spots would naturally hit on my face and I instantly looked brown and sun kissed.

The only downside to these products is only the price. However when I was in boots if you spent over £50 on any premium beauty brands you received £10 off which I thought was a really good deal.  So instead of being £61 it was £51 which I do know is still a lot of money but it was a treat to my self seeing as how I have been on a bit of a spending ban recently. Which will have to continue now as I'm skint, ha!

What do you think? Do you own any Chanel products? Whats your favourite?
